Match Preview: Will rocky Blackpool tower over the Os?

After our dour but ultimately effective draw away at Bradford, we return to Brisbane Road this weekend when we welcome Blackpool FC to East London. Two out-of-form teams will battle it out in a game that is something of a must-win for both. We run the rule over the Tangerines ahead of the game.

Blackpool – the club

Although the dark days of the Owen Oyston regime at Blackpool ended seven years ago, the club perhaps unsurprisingly still exhibits signs of residual PTSD as a result of those truly dreadful days. Blackpool supporters made the ultimate sacrifice of boycotting matches for a prolonged period of time in order to get rid of Oyston for good. They yearn for success probably more than any other set of supporters in League One.

My next-door-but-one neighbour is a Blackpool fan and I find his desperation for them to fulfil their potential rather poignant, because it's not coming from a place of entitlement but from sheer love for his team.
