Life on the Road: Bradford City – Into the Valley, Blank and Stark-Eyed*

Orient’s last away game was on September 5th and that was only a short hop to Bedfordshire, which hardly counts. So it feels like we are back to football as it should be as we roll up our sleeves (but pack an extra jumper as it looks like being only 12 degrees on Saturday) for a proper away trip to West Yorkshire to take on Bradford City.
Bradford is the ultimate 'shit town, no pubs' fixture and one of my favourites. It’s my fourth closest trip after Wigan, Blackpool and Stockport, plus who doesn’t love a trip to the Motherland.
Bradford -- the place
The name Bradford comes from the Old English words Brad and Ford, meaning 'broad ford,' referring to a crossing over Bradford Beck near the current cathedral. Bradford is the fifth largest metropolitan district in England, with a population of 563,000, and has one of the youngest age demographics in the UK, with more than 22% of the district’s population being under 16.
