The Dom Ballard transfer saga has finally come to an end for Leyton Orient, with the young striker signing with Bristol City on Tuesday, the clubs announced.
The signing fee, which was undisclosed, was initially believed to be around £4.2 million, but the Ear understands that Bristol City are paying considerably more, albeit the amount that Orient will actually receive once Southampton's interest in the striker is cleared will be close to the first figure. That said, there there are also significant add-ons relating to future success.
The fee smashes the Os club record, far surpassing the reported £1.5 million received when Ethan Galbraith was sold to Swansea City in July 2025.
