Life on the Road: Orient Take on Walsall in the Carabao Cup

The Os make the trip to the Black Country on Tuesday to play Walsall in Round 2 of the Carabao Cup. We got here by beating Oxford United (don’t we always) in the first round, while Walsall progressed via a 1-0 away win at Championship side Bristol City.
It’s been more than three years since Walsall and Leyton Orient last met competitively in the 22/23 season as Orient were marching towards the League Two title.
Since then, Walsall have resided in the top half of League Two, and in 24/25 famously threw away a big lead to finish in the playoffs, where they lost 1-0 to AFC Wimbledon at Wembley, the day after we also lost 1-0 at Wembley.
